Oil on canvas Housed in a contemporary frame Inscribed “Plus Oultre” and “Aetatis XXXII” (Age 32) Note: This is a later copy of German artist, Christoph Armberger’s famous 16th century portrait of Charles V (aka King Charles I). The motto “Plus Oultre”, meaning further beyond, was adopted by Charles V, Holy roman Emperor in the 16th century and is the official motto of Spain. SIZE: 26-1/2″ x 19-1/2″.
