RARE REID “MY FRIEND” KNUCKLEDUSTER .32 CAL. WITH 1-3/4″ BARREL.

SN 13392. Cal. 32. Rare variation with just a handful known. Standard configuration frame marked on top left “MY FRIEND PATD DEC. 26, 1865”. Bronze frame. Removable cylinder pin. Hammer originally in the white. Cylinder stamped “MY FRIEND”. Cylinder pin locking device at front of frame. 1-3/4″ bbl marked “MY FRIEND” on top with blade sight at muzzle end of bbl. Grip sides tasteful large open floral scroll. Front of trigger guard with SN, butt with knurling in shield motif. Top strap nicely scroll engraved. Recoil shield with light line engraving. PROVENANCE: The Carmen Gianforte Collection. CONDITION: Very good. Bbl retains approx 40-50% of nickel finish with scattered flaking and a few minor bumps and bruises on sides. Cylinder is poor exhibiting light oxidation throughout. Top strap and front of frame retain approx 60% orig nickel plated finish. Butt retains more than 75% orig nickel plated finish with scattered handling marks throughout. Hammer is also good. Engraving is sharp. Bore is fair.
