*BEAUTIFUL HIGH ART ITHACA $4500 GRADE SBT.SN 240405505. Cal. 12 Ga. 32″ bbl. 2-3/4″ chamber. Choke: FULL. Full matted ventilated rib with “certifiable pre-ban ivory” mid-bead and synthetic ivory front sight. Water table marked with SN and “Engraved by R.O. Alpen” on right and “12 Ga. $4500.00″ on left. Gold plated checkered trigger, ejector, no safety. Capped full pistol grip, Monte Carlo stock with 14-1/2” LOP over basket weave Pachmayr white line pad. Trap forend. Gorgeous full coverage scroll engraving with two-tone gold ducks in marsh scene on left and three pheasants in farm scene on right. Bottom of frame with Ruffed Grouse and two pine trees in gold. Trigger guard bow with gold snipe and grass in gold with finely cut scroll on top and bottom of bow. Right and left side of bbl at breech finely engraved with “Ithaca Gun Co.” on right and “Ithaca, NY” on left in ribbon. Stocks are beautiful flame grain American walnut, finely checkered through wrist with scalloped pattern at grip and finely checkered panel on stock cheeks. Grip cap appears to be buffalo horn and is finely scalloped. Gold shield in stock without initials. Weight: 8 lb 11 oz. PROVENANCE: The Collection of Robert Burg. Receiver retains approx 90-95% orig case colors that is somewhat hidden by the depth of the engraving. Bbl, trigger guard and forend iron retain approx 95-98% orig blue. Checkering is crisp throughout. Buttstock shows crackling and lifting of finish with some losses having flaked, but is orig and generally very good. Light handling marks. Mechanics are excellent.
