SENSATIONAL JOHN HANCOCK & SON’S MULTI-COMPARTMENT TIN COUNTRY STORE SPICE BIN.One of the finest country store display items of its kind, this 7-compartment bin from John T. Hancock & Son’s of Dubuque, Iowa has fabulous stenciled and hand-painted graphics. Bin consists of seven individual compartments with hinged lower door fronts for pepper, cinnamon, cloves, tartar, mustard, ginger and allspice from which the store customer could select their quantities. The top retains all seven original recessed lids. Top is stenciled “AM. CAN. CO. 73A”. John T. Hancock & Son’s was the mid-west largest wholesale grocer and distributor in the 1890s. SIZE: 38″ w x 13-1/2″ h x 12″ d.
