GIRARD FIRE CHIEF CAR WITH OB.

This toy is in near mint, unplayed with condition and it is just an out & out screamer. It retains its original $1.25 price tag from Sears & Roebuck and the two original batteries on the underside, but the lights no longer appear to be working. When examining this toy, one can come to the conclusion that undoubtedly this must have been store stock that had never been sold to a child. And it is believed that the key was probably never screwed in to the clockwork mechanism. It is unfortunate but virtually the only wear visible is what one would refer to as box wear. There are scuffs and minimal paint loss to the Coupe’s roof yet the paint is still virtually wet and shiny, the red highlight bulbs are intact, the decals are vibrant and near perfect. Even the tailgate is crisp. A somewhat common toy in most exceptional condition and although one might not collect this type of toy, one can easily appreciate this car. Not enough good things can be said about this vehicle which is probably 75+/- years old. The corrugated box has the printed label on one side depicting the car and the words “Fire Chief Siren Coupe” along with the maker’s name and address. A rare opportunity for someone who wants the best of the best. Box itself is very cheap in nature being only corrugated and one can see the red scuffs on the inside where the car sat for many years. Included are the original instructions which were folded and are somewhat frail along with another important statement regarding oiling the gears and pinions. SIZE: 14″ l. CONDITION: As stated above. 49026-1 (600-1,000) – Lot 2030
