THREE JAPANESE WOODBLOCK PRINTS BY HIROSHIGE.

1) Mid 19th century. Image of Sagami River from “36 views of Fuji”, published by Koyeido, engraved by Horicho, date 1858. Good impression, bright colors, well framed and matted. 2) 1st half 19th century. Image of Sakawa River from “53 stations of the Tokaido” dated 1833. Colors rich, nicely framed. 3) Late 19th early 20th century. “Evening Snow of Pakanawa” from the series, “Toto Yukimi Hakkei”. Later image with strong colors and good detail probably 20th century, well matted and framed. SIZE: 1) ōban tate-e. Block size 13-1/4″ x 8-1/2″, 33.66cm x 21.59cm. 2) ōban. Block size 9-1/8″ x 14″, 23.18cm x 35.56cm. 3) ōban. Block size 8-1/2″ x 13-1/2″, 21.59cm x 34.29cm. PROVENANCE: From a Maine collection. CONDITION: 1) A few minor spots of foxing, a small area of worm damage in the lower left, not examined out of frame, margins covered by mat. 2) Margins hidden by matte, not examined out of frame, paper darkened, small fold and possible repair in upper right corner, wear to image near inscription, left margin showing glue residue from previous mounting. 3) Very good, paper slightly darkened, not examined out of frame. 9-94589, 9-94616, 9-94645 (100-200) – Lot 2690
