THREE LARGE U.S. CENTENNIAL ENGRAVINGS.

1) “Centennial-The Course of Empire”, published by James Miller after a pen and ink drawing by Daniel Ames 1876. Large presentation showing an oval with the Declaration of Independence inset with Washington’s bust and the Proclamation of Emancipation inset with a bust of Lincoln. These are surrounded by vignettes of important scenes of our history; 2) “In Remembrance of the 100th Anniversary of the Independence of the United States”, published by George Stinson & Co., Portland, Maine 1876. Lady Liberty is centered surrounded by the busts of the Presidents with a scene of the Centennial Exhibition buildings and other vignettes; 3) “Our Country”, dated 1873, and engraved the American Bank Note Company, New York and Boston. An interesting architectural type presentation centered on the Declaration of Independence, surrounded by State Seals and Presidents. SIZE: 1) 28″ x 40″; 2) 30″ x 23″; 3) 30″ x 23″. CONDITION: All shrink wrapped to foam core. 1) Age toning and foxing, light water stains, otherwise very good; 2) One missing corner edge, losses and tears to outer margin, water stains on left side going into image; 3) Allover toned, losses to edge and tears into image. 9-25026 (400-600) – Lot 2193
