PAIR OF BUB LIMOUSINES, ONE WITH ADVERTISING.The smaller of the two is quite interesting as it has lithographed on the roof “O’Connor’s The Store That Sells Everything in Mahanoy City, PA”. This store was in the coal regions of Pennsylvania and obviously there was a select group of people that were fairly well to do. The vehicle also features a sparkler attached to the rear wheel assembly and through means of a red eisenglass, one would see the simulated engine exhaust. Mechanism appears complete and intact, however typical key attached to winding lever is missing. Toy is in virtually very fine to near mint original condition. The second vehicle, slightly larger in size but with the same coloring, has opening rear doors. Its windup mechanism is complete, however the one gear has jumped over and is in need of a minor and inconsequential repair. This vehicle also is in very fine plus original condition. SIZE: Approx 7-1/2″ and 8-1/2″ respectively. PROVENANCE: The Estate of Carol and Jerry Soling. CONDITION: As stated above. 1-14731 (950-1,250) – Lot 1110 Auction: Advertising, Toy & Doll Auction - Fall 2014 Please Note: All prices include the hammer price plus the buyer’s premium, which is paid by the buyer as part of the purchase price. The prices noted here after the auction are considered unofficial and do not become official until after the 46th day. |
