ENGLISH & GERMAN LITHO LIMOUSINES.The first vehicle circa teens-1920s, at first glance, looks like a Carl Bubb but in reality it is English with maker’s name stamped on rear of passenger compartment, within a spoked wheel the lettering “L. Whitan Co.” appear. Nice clean automobile with simulated spoked tires & functioning clockwork mechanism (possible old restoration to tin tires). The second vehicle being somewhat earlier 1910-1920 vintage of unknown German manufacture, featuring an open chauffeur area with an enclosed passenger compartment. Somewhat of a plain Jane car with a fixed circular steering & clockwork mechanism (untested), yet however this car retains a fair amount of charm. SIZE: Approx 8″ & 6-1/4″ l respectively. PROVENANCE: The Estate of Carol and Jerry Soling. CONDITION: As described above; otherwise overall good to very good. 1-14630 (400-600) – Lot 1082 Auction: Advertising, Toy & Doll Auction - Fall 2014 Please Note: All prices include the hammer price plus the buyer’s premium, which is paid by the buyer as part of the purchase price.
