ERTE JALOUISE BRONZE.

Erte bronze sculpture entitled “Jalouise” depicts a snake body coiled and raised to strike forming into a woman’s torso, arms and head. The snake body turns into the woman’s hat shaped like a flattened cobra’s head and her hands & arms are covered by long snake-like gloves. The snake woman rests atop a geometric octagonal base with top platform and sides having raised highly polished panels. The snake’s body, gloves and hat are polychromed in black, gold and green. Backside of base carries an Erte signature and is stamped “88/300 JM RKP INT. Cop. Copyright 1980”. SIZE: 15″ t. CONDITION: Very good. Black finish on base is beginning to lift and peel in places.
