MONUMENTAL MOSER DECORATED VASE.

Moser decorated vase is amethyst shading to clear and is decorated with a large sculptural applied and enameled eagle with wings spread landing on an applied three-dimensional oak branch. The diamond shaped vase is further decorated on all sides with enameled oak leaves, oak branches and applied acorns. The enamel decoration extends up onto the wide lip of the vase. Vase is pictured in the book Moser Glass: The Klabin Collection by Gary D. Baldwin, pg. 12, plate 12. SIZE: 14″ t. PROVENANCE: George Klabin Collection. CONDITION: Vase has a large horseshoe shaped crack extending from one corner into the next panel and circling back. The crack is somewhat hidden because the oak leaf design follows the line of the crack to conceal it leading us to believe that the crack may have happened in the making and the decoration was placed to help conceal it. Two acorns are missing their lower half. 5-67265 (700-1,000) – Lot 1099
