TIN SIGN FOR EDGERTON’S REAL ESTATE, MANCHESTER, VT.William B. Edgerton was a lawyer from Manchester, VT who operated a real estate business from 1898 until at least 1922. This sign incorporates an open touring car with driver, and was intended to inform motorists how many miles remained to reach their destination. The merchant would post these signs in various locations with the mileage number printed at the top, similar to a milepost. Stencil printed by the Ithaca Sign Works of Ithaca, NY. Circa 1910-1920. SIZE: Sight: 11-1/2″ w x 47-1/4″ h.
