LIONEL ELECTRIC STOVE.One of the many side projects the famous model train company pursued to appeal to the little girls of the period. This green and cream porcelain stove on steel legs featured two working burners and an oven. Emblazoned with the Lionel logo on the back panel and a temperature gauge on the front of the oven door this working stove must have been a great joy for the aspiring bakers of the 1940s. It is understood that Lionel manufactured this stove for only one year in 1932 and ceased production due to poor sales resulting from the Great Depression. As such, these stoves are somewhat hard to come by. SIZE: 25-1/2″ w x 33″ h x 11-1/2″ d. CONDITION: Visually very good to near excellent overall with the stove surface showing a bit more wear. Untested. 1-13706 (250-450) – Lot 3458 Auction: Advertising, Toy & Doll - Spring 2014 Please Note: All prices include the hammer price plus the buyer’s premium, which is paid by the buyer as part of the purchase price. The prices noted here after the auction are considered unofficial and do not become official until after the 46th day. |
