Hard and solidly stuffed dark cinnamon Steiff teddy bear with distinctive center seam facial construction and most appealing expression. Bear is 5-ways jointed and has traditional early Steiff proportions including long arms with spoon shaped hands and wrists, pronounced back hump and long and narrow feet. Non working growler. Bear’s face is detailed with black shoebutton eyes and a black hand-embroidered nose and mouth. Bear has four claws on each paw. Only 1 out of 7 early Steiff bears have a center seam face, making them extremely desirable for collectors. Bear retains his long trailing “F” button as his Steiff ID. SIZE: Overall 20″ t (50cm). Sitting 13″ t (34cm). PROVENANCE: Chuck & Cathy Steffes Collection. CONDITION: Professional restoration on small area on left paw. Various tiny felt holes and imperfections on other paws.
