EARLY CLASSIC GOLD STEIFF MOHAIR TEDDY BEAR WITH BUTTON.

Circa 1908. Solidly stuffed with excelsior and is 5-ways jointed. Very early body style consisting of extremely long arms that reach down to practically the bear’s knee area. Teddy has long narrow feet, tan felt paw pads and a pronounced hump. Four black embroidered claws per paw. Teddy’s face is detailed with black shoebutton eyes and a black hand-embroidered nose. Teddy retains his long trailing “F” Steiff button as his ID. Through the process of time stuffing has shifted slightly over time with one shoulder slightly higher than the other. This in no way detracts from his charm and appeal. SIZE: Overall 16″ t (40cm). Sitting 11″ t (28cm). PROVENANCE: Chuck & Cathy Steffes Collection.
