FINE AND EARLY STEIFF MOHAIR BEAR WITH BLANK BUTTON.

This circa 1906 bear is both kapok and excelsior stuffed, making him very light in weight. Bear is 5-ways jointed and made from mohair which has aged to a delightful apricot color. The bear has a prominent back hump and classic early Steiff proportions. His face is detailed with black shoebutton eyes and a black hand-embroidered nose and mouth. He has four claws on each paw. This bear has a particularly endearing expression. He retains his blank button and traces of his white ear tag as his Steiff IDs. SIZE: Overall 12″ t (30cm). Sitting 8″ (20cm).
