ANTIQUE COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY REVOLVER.SN 126111. Cal. 45 Colt. Usual configuration with 7-1/2″ bbl, full front sight and 1-line block letter address. Left side of frame has 3-line patent dates and left front web of trigger guard is marked “45 CAL”. Mounted with Rampant Colt/eagle hard rubber grips numbered to another revolver. This revolver was produced in about 1888 at the height of the Great Westward Expansion when firearms were daily working tools, usually under harsh circumstances with little or no maintenance. PROVENANCE: Tommy Rholes Estate Collection. CONDITION: Good. No orig finish remains being an overall smooth, dark brown patina with moderate holster wear on left edge of muzzle and tip of ejector housing with fine pitting around the muzzle and around the forcing cone; cyl is a dark patina in the flutes, cleaned metal on the outer diameter; grip frame is matching patina; grips show very hard wear, retaining very little detail and have turned chocolate; hammer is a replacement of orig type and retains strong, dark case colors. Mechanics are fine; worn dark bore with good rifling. Base pin is orig type with battered head. 4-50551 JR422 (2,500-4,000) – Lot 1252
