WONDERFUL DOHERTY ORGAN PAPER SIGN. Terrific Victorian parlor scene with the family gathered around the organ, being the focal point of the room. Look outside the window and see their plant. Ca. 1880-90, chromolithographed by Toronto Lithographing Co. Old original frame. SIZE: 28″ x 19 1/2″ excluding mat and frame. CONDITION: Near excellent, with only 3 tiny specks in the image. The frame is quite nice despite a few minor dings. The mat is new. NOTE: This item was sold at auction some years back with an old mat that covered part of the advertising box at the bottom that cuts into the frame line (by design). It was incorrectly assumed (because no one looked) that it was trimmed. However, it has full margins all around and now the proper matting shows part of those margins all around. 1-27874 (1,500-2,500)
