RARE ENGLISH CANAL BOAT ADVERTISING CABIN PANEL. Late 19th early 20th Century. England. This classic panel painted with the name of the owners and the registration number of the boat itself as being registered in Oldbury. Each canal boat was required to show the names of owners and the canal boat plus registration numbers on both sides of the boat. The sign with the name “FELLOWS, MORTON & CLAYTON LTD.” painted within a green panel accentuated by “S” scrolls and a central floral spray within a yellow molded border. The outer frame with the license number “Registered at Oldbury No. 352”. Note: Magazine article accompanies this lot. SIZE: 35″ h x 76″ l. CONDITION: Very good showing normal and acceptable wear due to weathering. 9-25448 (500-800)
