SET OF FOUR SHERATON MID-ATLANTIC FANCY CHAIRS. Mid 19th century, probably Baltimore. The tablet crest above a pierce carved slat decorated with gold gilt cornucopia joined to shelves with backswept ears. Each with trapezoidal cane seat and reeded frontal rail on turned cylindrical tapered legs joined by box stretcher. The whole in gold gilt and painted decoration. SIZE: 32-1/2″ h of back, 18″ h of seat. CONDITION: With original gilding and decoration on a dark green and black painted ground. Structurally sounds. Two caned seats absent. 7-70205 (200-400)
