CARVED PINE FLOUNDER MENU BOARD. Late 19th- early 20th century. This well-detailed two sided carving of a flounder with well delineated fins and scales with wrought iron hanging strap above the head and a turned cast-iron rod at the tail. Centering a slate chalkboard, visible from both sides. SIZE: 40-1/2″ h x 62″ l x 4″ w. PROVENANCE: Jimmy’s Harborside Restaurant, Boston, Massachusetts. CONDITION: Original painted surfaces have been removed, now with natural wood surface. Each side with old iron support strap to body. Generally very good. 9-27429 (1,600-2,000)
