FINE ENGRAVED EARLY 19TH CENTURY NEWFOUNDLAND POWDER HORN. Exceptional powder horn, engraved “Richard Larasy, Newfoundland, AB 1833”. Centered with a magnificent bird in flight, opposing serpents, a two-mast ship, a fort flying the British flag, several banners, a fish, a seal and flourishing throughout. The horn tip is octagonal and retains original wood plugged end with a fine mellow patina. NOTE: Records show a Richard Larasy, b 1813 in Ireland, d. 1877 in St. Martin, Newfoundland.
