EXCEPTIONAL STATE OF MAINE PAINT-DECORATED ONE-DRAWER STAND. Circa 1840. This unusual example, the top with bowed sides and bold turret corners above the square frieze fitted with a single drawer, the center paint-decorated with a basket of fruit, raised on bold swelled and tapering cylindrical legs headed by an arrangement of nine rings engaged at the corner. The cuffs with bold ring-turnings with elongated onion feet. The whole grained and sponge-decorated in black on a red painted ground. SIZE: 29-1/2″ h x 24″ w 20″ d. CONDITION: Surfaces original with normal and expected wear and minor abrasions overall, center of top with light rings, no restoration or damages observed, surfaces of patina, very good. 9-28791 (4,000-6,000)
