*TRADITIONALLY INSPIRED DASSA ENGRAVED BERTUZZI SIDELOCK EJECTOR GAME GUN WITH CASE. SN 6006. Cal. 20 Ga. 2-3/4″ Chambers. 28″ Chopper lump barrels with concave matted game rib are engraved “Flli Bertuzzi Italy” in English script on top of left bbl. Bbl flats are stamped with Italian nitro proofs for 1996, “ARMI BERTUZZI” and SN. Bottoms of bbls have further proofs and chamber information, as well as “New England Arms Co. Kittery Point ME” (importer). Case hardened sidelock action features non-automatic safety (“Safe” engraved) and single non-selective trigger. Action, lockplates, single beaded trigger guard, and top lever are very finely engraved with Kell inspired semi-relief open shaded scrolled acanthus, highlighting different game birds. Woodcock appear on bottom of action and on top tang, under thumbpiece of top lever. Left lockplate has three quail, one sitting, another flushing, and third flying in the distance. Right lockplate repeats the theme with perched ruff grouse, flushing, and flying. This quite pleasing composition was done by Dassa, whose signature is on right side of trigger plate. Exceptionally well marbled and nicely figured Circassian walnut straight grip buttstock measures 14-1/2″ over checkered wood butt, with case hardened heel and toe plates. Engraving matches remainder of gun. Stock features drop points and 32 LPI borderless point pattern checkering. Matching splinter ejector forend has Anson release. Bore diameter: left -.625, right -.625. Bore restrictions: left -.013, right -.006. Wall thickness: left -.033, right -.033. Drop at heel: 2-1/8″, drop at comb: 1-7/16″. Weight: 6 lbs. 0 oz, LOP 14-1/2″. Tan leather Nizzoli case has brass corners, and is lined in burgundy cloth with black leather oval gold-embossed Bertuzzi label, and contains a pair of snap caps, and a key. CONDITION: Essentially as new, appears unfired, except for proof. There are some marks on front lump from assembly and dis-assembly of bbls. Case is excellent. 4-40878 MGM138 (25,000-35,000)
