*PIOTTI BOSS MODEL OVER-UNDER SINGLE TRIGGER EJECTOR GAME GUN. SN 9527. Cal. 12 Ga. 2-3/4″ Chambers. 28″ Demi-block barrels with flat matted solid rib have small lunate extension, and are engraved “F.lli. Piotti Italy” on left side of top bbl. Bbl flat is stamped with 1999 Italian nitro proofs, “Flli PIOTTI”, and engraved with SN. Left side of bottom bbl is engraved “W L Moore, Westlake, CA” and “4/10”. Nicely sculpted and filed Boss-type coin finished action features non-automatic safety (“S” inlaid in gold), non-selective single trigger, and gold line tumbler end cocking indicators. Action and lockplates are engraved with very finely executed full coverage of large open flowing scroll and acanthus with floral highlights. Background is very delicately shaded. This exceptional work was done by “Contessa”, whose signature is on right side of trigger plate. Matching single beaded trigger guard has SN on long tang. An interesting mask with acanthus tendrils is on trigger guard bow. Beautifully marbled and slightly stump figured European walnut straight grip buttstock measures 15″ over brown leather covered pad, and features drop points, diamond hand, and very cleanly cut 32 LPI checkering with mullered borders. Matching one piece forend has Anson type release. Bore diameter: top -.728, bottom -.728. Bore restrictions: top -.013, bottom -.007. Wall thickness: top -.030, bottom -.032. Drop at heel: 2-1/4″, drop at comb: 1-3/8″. Weight: 7 lbs. 5 oz, LOP 15″. CONDITION: Excellent. Bbls retain virtually all of their blue with a few minor marks from use, and a few scratches under wood on left side of bottom bbl from assembly and dis-assembly. Action retains nearly all of its coin finish, with a few areas of darkening in action beads, and sculpted portion of breech. Stocks retain nearly all of their finish with a number of small marks, mostly on left side near butt. Checkering is excellent. Fratelli Piotti manufactures about 70 extremely high quality guns per year. This fine gun has an MSR of over $60K. 4-40474 MGM83 (30,000-50,000)
