*DAINTY FRANCOTTE BEST QUALITY BLE SIDE BY SIDE SHOTGUN. SN 76532. Cal. .410. 26″ bbls. Matted, tapered, concave rib, sgl silver sighting bead, IMP.MOD/FULL chokes, 3″ chambers, ejectors and dbl triggers. Top of right bbl is marked Von Lengerke & Detmolde, right bbl U.S. Agents New-York. The boxlock frame is engraved with a fine, foliate arabesque scrolls and marked on each side A Francotte Maker & Patentee/Liege Belgium. Fences are carved with a cattail scene. Mounted with nicely figured walnut, sculpted, checkered side panels; checkered, round knob pistol grip; serrated horn buttplate and checkered, splintered forend with push tip release. Griffin & Howe Researcher confirms gun received by VL&D on June 24,1914. A research letter is available through G&H. Bore measurements are not available for .410. Drop at Heel: 2-15/16″; Drop at Comb: 1-11/16″; Weight: 4lbs 2 oz; LOP: 14-3/16″. CONDITION: Fine. Bbls retain 90-95% orig blue, thinning at muzzle and chamber end. Rub on bottom from forend, a few small spots of shallow surface oxidation and usual minor nicks and scrapes. Receiver retains 50% orig case colors with balance a beautiful silver patina. Trigger guard retains orig blue cross bow blending with silver patina, and worn to silver through grip. Stock is sound with slightly worn checkering. A few minor handling marks and retains a lovingly cleaned and re-oiled finish blending with hand worn patina. Forend is sound with slightly worn checkering and retains an oil finish blending with hand worn patina. Mechanics are crisp with automatic safety, strong ejectors and nice, shiny bores. 4-39838 BDT167 (5,000-8,000)
