Bbl flats have London nitro proofs for 1-1/4 oz. of shot (2-7/8″ chambers). Golden brown, nicely marbled and figured French walnut straight grip buttstock measures 15-1/4″ over black “Old English” sporting clays pad. There is a gold oval on toe line engraved with initials “BSN”. Stock also features drop points and 22 LPI point pattern checkering with mullered borders. Matching splinter forend has Anson release, with SN on iron. Bore diameter: left -.733, right -.728. Bore restrictions: left -.034, right -.033. Wall thickness: left -.030, right -.030. Accessories include round pewter oil bottle, pair of Hussey marked snap caps, some cleaning brushes, a key, and a Silvers type pad with post-it note marked “Original fitted Silvers pad”. CONDITION: Excellent, as partially refreshed. Bbls retain virtually all of a London quality satin re-black. Engraving is sharp. Action retains 80-90% original case color, silvered on fences, beads, and fading a bit on bottom of action. Lockplates retain nearly all of their brilliant original case color. Top lever and trigger guard are re-blued. Engraving on trigger guard is slightly washed. Stocks retain nearly all of an old professional rubbed oil finish. Checkering has been correctly re-cut, but borders have not. Action is tight. Bbls are on face. Ejectors are in time. Bores are excellent, bright and shiny. Case leather is still light brown with a number of scuffs and abrasions. Interior cloth is excellent. Partitions are tight. Leather label is excellent. Charge label is slightly foxed with one area rubbed through from contact with bbls. Accessories are fine. There is a small chip out of rim of one snap cap. Original straps show a repair, and are a bit tired, as is original handle. A lovely gun in great condition, by one of the best makers of his time. 4-39349 MGM32 (13,000-18,000)
