*SPECTACULAR KURT JAEGER ENGRAVED & GOLD INLAID SMITH & WESSON MODEL 29-2 DA REVOLVER. SN N19133. Cal. 44 Magnum. Fabulous Kurt Jaeger engraved revolver with 6-1/2″ ribbed bbl with adjustable red ramp & white outline sights, target trigger & hammer. Mounted with fantastic 2-pc ivory grips that have nearly full coverage relief carved leaf & vine patterns with fine stippled background that have the serial number S299766 scratched on inside of each grip. Grip escutcheons are surrounded by flower blossoms and grip screw is engraved on both ends. Revolver is engraved with full coverage spectacular deep oak leaf & acorn patterns on frame with foliate & floral patterns on cylinder & bbl. Left side of frame has a wonderfully detailed deep relief gold inlaid grizzly bear and the right side has an equally detailed deep relief gold inlaid bugling bull elk. Both animal vignettes are in wonderfully detailed mountain background settings. Both sides of frame have gold wire borders with gold wire inlay completely around the cylinder flutes and fronts of the lands between the flutes. Cylinder also has gold wire inlaid bands around the rear edge and forward of the cylinder stops. There is an additional gold wire inlay on each side of the rib on the bbl that circles the muzzle with geometric patterns. There are additional gold wire inlays around the end of the ejector rod housing, completely around rear edge of frame and trigger guard. Top strap and side edges of bbl have beautiful hand cut diamond patterns with matching diamond patterns on the sides and top flat of front sight. Left side of top strap is inlaid in gold “KURT JAEGER MAINZ”. All of the engraving has a very fine punch dot background. Frame is a French gray color while bbl & cylinder are blued creating a wonderful contrast. CONDITION: Extremely fine plus. Retains virtually all of its fine custom finish and appears to remain unfired since engraving. Grips are sound and retain a wonderful ivory patina.
