*DWM 1917 DATED ARTILLERY LUGER WITH SNAIL DRUM MAGAZINE, LOADER, AND OTHER ACCESSORIES. SN 8707 G. Cal. 9 mm. 8″ Barrel is stamped with SN and caliber on bottom, with military proof on right side of integral rear sight base. Nine position rear sight has adjustment screw to fine tune elevation, and front sight base also has adjustment screw for windage. Receiver has military proofs on right, 1917 on ring, and SN without suffix on left. Frame has stock lug, and is marked “Gesichert” on left rear, with safety in down position, and SN is on front. Toggle assembly has “DWM” on central link. Extractor is marked “Geladen”. All small parts have correct numbers and proofs, including beech grips. Tin-plated magazine has no. 8707 on walnut base plug, as do spare magazines, which are also marked “1” and “2”. Black military holster is marked inside flap with indecipherable makers mark, but “1917” is legible. Holster has cleaning rod and takedown tool in compartments. Tool is marked with waffenampt. Second model snail drum magazine is marked with no. 552189, and has its dust cover. Original loading tool has crowned S proof on left side. With pistol there is also a reproduction loading tool. Also included is leather case for spare magazines, and other leather bits and straps, and two boxes of 9mm ammo dated 1917. There is a double ribbon with iron cross, dated 1914, and bronze cross with crossed swords with dates 1914 and 1918. CONDITION: Excellent. Metal retains nearly all of its blue, with bbls slightly silvered, and pitted toward muzzle. Receiver is slightly silvered on high edges. Frame is slightly silvered at extreme front, around trigger guard, sharp edges at rear, and on stock lug. Sideplate retains about 80% blue, silvered on sharp points, on perimeter. Trigger lever boss shows about 50% blue. Strawed parts show nearly all of their color, but with some freckling, and are slightly silvered on high points. Safety lever is mostly silvered toward grip. Bore is excellent, sharp, bright and shiny. Magazine base plugs are replacements with numbers newly stamped. Holster is fine with original brown showing through black on flap. Accessories are fine. Snail drum shows most of its original blue, as does dust cover. Original loading tool shows a considerable amount of its original black finish, but handle is mostly brown. Reproduction loading tool is excellent. Cartridges and medals are fine. 4-39241 MGM110 (5,000-7,000)
