OUTSTANDING WINCHESTER HI-WALL SEMI-DELUXE WITH SWISS BUTT. SN 82384. Cal. 38-55. No. 4 weight. 30″ oct bbl with windage adjustable globe front sight, no rear seat & 3″ tang-mounted Vernier sight. Equipped with sgl set trigger. Mounted with select straight grain walnut, I-checkered Schnable forend with ebony tip insert, I-checkered pistol grip with Winchester hard rubber grip cap, nickel Swiss butt plate. Accompanied by Cody Firearms Museum letter identifying gun as 38-55, No. 4, 30″ oct bbl, plain trigger, plain pistol grip checkered, Swiss plate, mid-range & wind gauge sights, no rear seat; received in warehouse May 3, 1899, & shipped same day. CONDITION: Extremely fine. Bbl retains 95-97% orig blue with minor wear on sharp edges & a few minor nicks & scratches. Receiver retains 90-95% orig blue with wear at sharp edges & thinning across top & bottom. Stock is sound with minor nicks & scrapes, retaining most of its orig finish. Forend is sound with some scratching on left side & a tiny chip; some hand-worn patina across bottom & retains 85-90% orig finish.
