RESTORED REMINGTON ROLLING BLOCK NO.1 SPORTING RIFLE. SN 6887. Cal. 40-50. 30″ oct bbl, windage adjustable front sight with spirit level, fine sporting rear sight, tang-mounted 4-1/4″ Vernier peep sight. Bbl marked “E. REMINGTON, ILION, N.Y.” Mounted with select straight grain walnut, uncheckered forend with metal Schnable tip insert, uncheckered straight grip with rifle butt. PROVENANCE: Dr. Frank Miller Estate Collection. CONDITION: Very fine, as restored. Bbl retains nearly all of a fine restored factory quality blue with just a few minor nicks & handling marks. Receiver retains virtually all of a brilliant restored case color with lacquer coating. Stock is sound with a few minor handling marks & retains virtually all of a fine restored finish. Forend is sound with minor nicks & dings & hand-worn through belly in its fine restored finish. Mechanics are crisp with a shiny bore. 4-35692 BDT290 (2,500-4,500)
