Also with gun is orig box, including orig end label with SN, order number, and Ernie Simmons. Ernie Simmons, founder of Simmons Gun Specialties, was a friend of John Olin. Mr. Simmons developed the “raised rib” for Winchester’s Model 21, 410 by joining a pair of Winchester Model 37, 410 bbls and attaching them to a Model 21 bore frame. The “Model 21” 410 created by Mr. Simmons was used in a skeet tournament in Dallas, TX in 1950. This Model 21 may have been a presentation to Mr. Simmons from Mr. John Olin or Winchester, but factory records do not show it. CONDITION: Extremely fine. Gun is original with bbls and receiver retaining nearly all of their fine blue with a minor scratch on pivot of top lever. Wood is solid with crisp checkering, a few minor handling marks, and retains most of its fine hand rubbed oil finish. Leather cover pad is like new. Sound forend with crisp checkering, a couple minor handling marks, and virtually all of its fine hand rubbed oil finish. Mechanics are crisp with strong ejectors, non-automatic safety, and bright shiny bores, as should be expected from a gun that has seen very little use. Box is in very good shape with some minor scuffing and a few dents. 4-33465 BDT175 (20,000-30,000)
