PURDEY SNAP ACTION HAMMER GUN WITH REBOUNDING LOCKS. SN 9089. Cal. 12ga. 30″ Dove tailed Damascus bbls are engraved “Purdey. 314 1/2 Oxford Street, London.” on the concave game rib w/ a 3/4″ area of scroll at the breech end. Bbl flats have London proofs for 1-1/8oz shot, and recent Birmingham re-proofs for 2-1/2″ chambers and 3 drams black powder at .740 and .744. Bbls are also stamped SN “9089”. Action has scroll engraving and the lock plates are engraved Purdey w/ vignette of dog flushing ducks on the left lock, and a pointer pointing a pair of flushing partridges on the right. Hammers are scroll engraved. Fences are nicely filed. Lever over guard snap action has double underlugs. Lever and trigger guard have scroll engraving, and the grip is engraved “No.9089”. The figured English walnut straight grip buttstock measures 14″ over a serrated wood butt w/ steel heel and toe plates. Features a gold oval w/ monogram “IS”?, Drop points, and 18 LPI checkering w/ mullered borders. The Anson release splinter forend has 95% checkering coverage. Bore diameter: left -.742, right -.744. Bore restrictions: left -000, right -000. Wall thickness: left -.028, right -.025. Drop at heel: 2-1/2″, drop at comb: 1-5/8″. Weight:6 lbs 12oz. CONDITION: Very good as refinished. Bbls show 90-95% nicely colored re-brown w/ some wear on outer edge of right bbl and some scratches on left bbl near breech. Action is finished bright. Opening lever and trigger guard show 98% of their re-blue. Stocks show 95% re-finish. Checkering is re-cut and fairly sharp. Bores are bright and shiny w/ some pitting toward breech of left bbl.
