*W. & C. SCOTT MONTE CARLO B SIDE LOCK HEAVY GAME GUN. SN 50119. Cal. 12ga. 2-3/4″ Chambers. Double triggers. Automatic safety. 30-1/4″ Dovetailed steel bbls are engraved “W & C. Scott & Son THE MONTE CARLO B 10 Gt. Castle Street Regent Circus London England” on right bbl, and “Made of Sir Joseph Whitworth’s Fluid Compressed Steel.” on the left. Machine matted flat rib is engraved “Scott’s improved bolt” in an oval near the square cross bolted rib extension. Bbl flats have Birmingham black powder proofs. Bottoms of bbls are marked w/ SN “50119”, Whitworth sheaf of wheat trademark, and tube nos. “15713” and “15714”. Action has double under lugs and square cross bolt and is marked w/ Birmingham proofs, SN, makers name and logo on water table. Breech faces are fitted w/ Scott’s “Patent Gas Check.” Action and lock plates are nicely engraved w/ typical English scroll w/ a blue rock pigeon in flight in an oval, on both lock plates, as well as “W & C. Scott & Son.” Broadly streaked European walnut half pistol grip buttstock measures 14″ over quarter inch wood lengthening piece w/ checkered butt, featuring silver oval on toe line, another on heel, lozenge shaped drop points, and 20 LPI flat top checkering w/ double line borders. Splinter forend has Scott’s patented lever release and wood and checkering to match buttstock. Bore diameter: left -.729, right -.730. Bore restrictions: left -.030, right -.022. Wall thickness: left -.032, right -.030. Drop at heel: 3″, drop at comb: 1-5/8″. Weight: 7 lbs 8.5oz. CONDITION: Fine. Bbls retain nearly all high quality re-black w/ some areas of light pitting, a few nicks and dings, and solder bleed out along top rib. Action retains 20-30% case color mostly faded, strong in protected areas. Trigger guard retains 40% of orig blue. Top lever is silvered at thumb piece. Stocks retain most of an old refinish w/ numerous small nicks and dings from use. Checkering is slightly worn and dirty. Few small cracks behind lock plates. Forend shows some cracks toward tip w/ 2 small areas of replaced wood. Action is tight. Bbls are on face. Bores are excellent, except for one very minor small dent about 6″ back from muzzle on right barrel. Screw slots are good, but show some use. 4-35817 MGM88 (4,000-6,000)
