*WESTLEY RICHARDS BOLT ACTION MAGAZINE RIFLE. SN 40998. Cal. 7m/m Mauser. 24″ rnd bbl with front sight on block, sling eye, and one standing, four folding express sight, graduated out to 500 yards. Bbl is marked “WESTLEY RICHARDS & CO. LONDON 7M/M RIMLESS CARTRIDGE.” Rifle is built on commercial Mauser intermediate length action with pear shaped bolt knob. Trigger guard and floorplate are of commercial nondetachable type without lock screws for the guard screws. The sound, straight grain European walnut semi-pistol grip stock measures 13-1/2″ over orig steel trap buttplate. Stock has sling eye and vacant silver oval. The forend is horn tipped and stock has standard point pattern checkering. Trigger is dbl stage. A great little rifle out of Africa. CONDITION: The bore is strong and slightly dark. Rifle retains 50-60% of its orig rust blue turning to brown in some places and to silver in others. Stock retains 80% of its orig varnish finish and checkering is orig. 50% of bright blue remaining on bolt stop housing. 4-31935 MGM19 (3,000-5,000)
