*EXTRAORDINARY FACTORY CUSTOM WINSTON CHURCHILL ENGRAVED JERRY FISHER STOCKED WINCHESTER MODEL 21 DOUBLE BARREL SHOTGUN 2-BARREL SET. SN 33116. Cal. 20 ga. Unbelievable “21”, and probably the only one of its type in the world, with absolute & complete factory documentation of the work by the two master artisans Winston Churchill & Jerry Fisher. The No. 1 set of bbls is 26″ with flat matted ventilated rib, dbl ivory beads choked MOD/IMP-CYL and the No. 2 set is 28″ with flat matted ventilated rib, dbl ivory beads choked FULL/MOD. Both have ejectors. Ribs were ordered without inscription panels and both have 3″ chambers. It is mounted with spectacular exhibition quality of the highest order circassian walnut that is rarely ever encountered. The quality of this wood is so high that it goes beyond any grading scale and is such that, from personal experience at the mills in Turkey, is found only about once in about every 10,000 stock blanks. The two forearms are, without question, from the exact same blank and match perfectly. Fitted with two field style beavertail forearms with Model 21 style deluxe pattern checkering. Buttstock has a long graceful wrist with capped grip, shallow teardrop side panels, 14-3/8″ over a checkered butt with heel & toe plates. Receiver has rounded front edges, as ordered by the customer, with shallow raised side panels and a fine raised rib around back edges of fences. Back edges of receiver were custom filed in a pointed scalloped pattern. Heel & toe plates were scalloped to match. Mr. Fisher also custom filed the trigger and created a long English style trigger guard that terminates at the grip cap. All of metal & wood work are the product of master metalsmith & stock maker, Jerry Fisher, as special ordered through factory by Thomas Koessl of Bailey’s Harbor, Wisconsin. Mr. Koessl also specified that the factory contract the engraving to be done by world master engraver, Winston Churchill of Vermont. The factory agreed and Mr. Churchill has engraved this special Model 21 with his own marvelous style, creating an unequaled work of art. Left side of receiver has the vignette of two woodcock in flight in flat gold executed in spectacular detail flying in front of a wooded backdrop. Right side of receiver has the vignette of two flying Ruffed Grouse in the foreground with pine boughs & trees shaded into the background, all executed in equally exquisite detail. Floorplate has two flushing cock pheasants, also in flat gold in spectacular detail with cornstalks & grasses in background. All three vignettes and balance of receiver, opening lever, top tang, trigger guard & the iron of forends have Mr. Churchill’s very distinctive foliate arabesque patterns with some detail so fine it is nearly indistinguishable without a glass. Heel & toe plates & grip cap are lightly engraved to match. It is inconceivable that another Model 21 exists anywhere to equal this masterpiece. It is absolutely documented work contracted through the factory and is a one of a kind Model 21. Accompanied by twelve pages of correspondence and order forms between U.S. Repeating Arms Co. & Thomas Koessl ordering and confirming the order for this shotgun as found.
