*RARE LC SMITH FIELD GRADE SIDE BY SIDE SHOTGUN. SN 103610. Cal. .410. 28″ bbls. Matted tapered rib, single gold sighting bead, 2-1/2″ chambers, ejectors, and double triggers. Right bbl is marked, “LC Smith Field Grade” left “Hunter Arms Co. INC. M’F”R’S Fulton, N.Y. U.S.A.” Usual field grade receiver with just L.C. Smith on each lock plate. Mounted in straight grain walnut with checkered splinter forend, checkered pistol grip with hard rubber grip cap, and 14″ to serrated hard rubber butt. Bore diameter: left -n/a, right -n/a. Bore restrictions: left -n/a, right -n/a. Wall thickness: left -n/a, right -n/a. Drop at heel: 2-3/8″. Drop at comb: 1-1/2″. Weight: 5 lbs 14 oz. CONDITION: Very good to fine. Bbls retain 80-85% orig blue with some areas of thinning and spotty cleaned area towards rear of right bbl, and the usual light nicks and scratches. Receiver has 40-50% orig case coloring, stronger in protected areas with carrying area being worn to a silver and splotchy brown patina color. Stocks are solid with just the usual hunting nicks and dings with one 1/4″ gouge in the toe line. Mechanics are crisp, and bores are somewhat dark and moderately pitted.
