*RARE AND OUTSTANDING LC SMITH EAGLE GRADE SIDE BY SIDE SHOTGUN. SN FWE67568. Cal. 16 ga. 28″ matted tapered rib with single brass sighting bead. 2-9/16″ chambers. FULL/FULL with ejectors and double triggers. Receiver is engraved in standard loose foliate border pattern, with stippled background and relief engraved flying pheasant on left plate, flying goose on right, and standing arch winged eagle on top lever. Trigger guard bow is engraved with “G.W. Cleveland.” Mounted with fancy well figured American walnut, checkered splinter forend with black tip insert, checkered straight grip stock 14″ to hard rubber butt plate. Bore diameter: left -.650, right -.650. Bore restrictions: left -.020, right -.010. Wall thickness: left -.030, right -.034. Drop at heel: 2-1/2″. Drop at comb: 5-1/8″. Weight: 6 lbs 11 oz. Normal 16 ga. bore diameter is .662. With these extremely tight .650 the choke designation should be MOD/IMP.CYL. based on amount of restriction from true bore diameter. CONDITION: Extremely fine. Bbls retain 98-99% of orig blue with only minor muzzle wear, a few light scratches, and a couple of minor nicks on the sharp edge of the rib, and a minor spot of corrosion on right side at chamber area. Receiver retains nearly all of it’s fine orig case coloring. Trigger guard has 90-95% orig blue with a small amount of spotty silver patina mixed in. Stocks are solid with only a few minor nicks and handling marks and retains most of it’s fine open pore factory finish. Checkering is clean and sharp. Mechanics are crisp, but ejectors are a little sticky from dried oil. Bores are shiny. A truly fine unused example of an eagle grade. 4-33246 BDT84 (15,000-20,000)
