WINCHESTER MODEL 1886 LEVER ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 40-65. SN 84970. Standard grade rifle with 26” oct bbl, full magazine, half nickel front sight & semi-buckhorn rear sight. Mounted with nicely figured, streaky, straight grain, uncheckered American walnut with straight stock & crescent buttplate. CONDITION: About fine. Bbl & magazine tube retain most of their orig factory blue turning plum with light fine surface rust. Receiver retains traces of case colors in the most sheltered areas with about 70% milky, silvered case colors mixed with medium patina. Lever retains 50-60% bright case colors on sides with the edges turned dark. Hammer retains about 75% bright case colors. Wood is sound with minor nicks & scratches and an orig, raised grain look signifying a very little used rifle. Mechanics are crisp, bright shiny bore. 4-31058 JR515 (2,500-5,000)
