*SEDGLEY CUSTOM SPRINGFIELD BOLT ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 22 WCF. SN 75154 Sedgley number 430. Fine custom rifle with 24″ Sedgley tapered rnd bbl, sleeved ramp front sight with a Lyman 48S receiver sight with target knobs. Top of bbl is marked “R.F. SEDGLEY, INC. PHILA PA U.S.A.”. It has the Sedgley “S” in a circle with the cal. marking on the left side at the chamber area. Bolt face has been sleeved and the extractor extended, for the smaller cartridge rim with the addition of a custom spring loaded ejector assist. Floor plate has Sedgley’s patent magazine attached. Receiver ring & bbl are mounted with target blocks containing a Winchester A5 scope. Mounted in very nicely figured, checkered, straight grain American walnut with schnable tip forestock and capped pistol grip butt with checkered steel, Winchester style buttplate. CONDITION: Very fine plus. Bbl & receiver retain virtually all of their beautiful high polish custom blue with a freckle or two of light surface rust. Floor plate retains about 90% strong custom blue with light surface rust. Scope has a series of scratches toward the back end, otherwise scope body and rings contain most of their orig factory blue, with a small cleaned area by one of the screw holes. Stock has a series of scratches on the left side, with light handling & use marks elsewhere and retains most of its bright custom finish. Mechanics & optics are fine.
