*COLT GOVERNMENT MODEL COMMERCIAL 1911 SEMI-AUTO PISTOL. Cal. 45 ACP. SN C99698. Made in 1918, during WWI, when few commercial pistols were being made and most of them went to military officers. It has blue finish with 5” bbl, fixed sights & small diamond checkered walnut grips. Slide has usual markings on left side with Rampant Colt without circle at back edge & usual commercial markings on right side. It has “GOVERNMENT MODEL” on right side of frame above serial number. It has one 2-tone magazine with unmarked base plate. Accompanied by its orig hinged lid, dark maroon, cardboard box with owner’s instruction sheet & a 1985 Hawaii registration form. CONDITION: Extremely fine, all matching, as new, may be unfired. Retains about 98-99% orig bright strong charcoal/blue with a few very minor scratches on right side of slide, probably from sliding around in box. Front strap has two or three more very minor scratches. Grips show extremely minor wear with no chipped diamonds. Bolt face retains virtually all of its orig blue & bbl about 97% orig blue. Mechanics are crisp, brilliant shiny bore. Magazine is extremely fine, box is battered & tattered with taped corners & a few missing pieces. 4-59498 (6,000-8,000)
