VERY RARE FRAMED BROADSIDE FOR “GATLING BATTERY”. This early broadside 7-3/8”X10-1/2” (sight) has an engraving of the Gatling Battery by MCWHINNEY, RINDGE & CO.” with the name “MONITOR” on the front of the carriage at the top of the front side of the flyer. The reverse of the flyer, also visible due to the dbl glazing, lists the military people who are endorsing the gun, but only Brig. Gen. Burnside is a known name. A smaller engraving is on the reverse side. Attractively framed in a 13-5/8” x 16-5/8” frame with matching matting. 4-60206 FS797 (1,000-1,500)
