GERMAN MODEL 1826 PERCUSSION MUSKET.

GERMAN MODEL 1826 PERCUSSION MUSKET. NSN. Cal. 71. 41” part oct. bbl. Marked “crown / FW / Saarn / T” on the lockplate in front of the hammer. Dated 1844 on the right quarter flat of bbl with the model number on the left quarter flat, along with the issue mark “1.C.93”. Numerous inspector marks appear on the wood and other parts. “L 39 / 1.C.93” is on the top tang of the buttplate, which matches the bbl. CONDITION: Rust/brown patina on bbl with spots of surface rust and light pitting. Lockplate has been cleaned to bright. Brass parts have a mellow patina with scattered spots of corrosion. Stock is cracked at the rear of the comb and has been cleaned in front of the lockplate. Mechanically fine. 4-58266 FS12 (400-600)
