SPRINGFIELD MODEL 1795 FLINTLOCK MUSKET. NSN. Cal. 70. 42” rnd bbl. Dated 1800 on the tang of the buttplate. Standard eagle over “US” in front of the hammer and “SPRINGFIELD” in a downward arc at the rear of the lockplate. Proof marks at the rear of the bbl have been battered and are not readable. The rear bbl band is missing, and the center bbl band spring is missing. Ramrod and center bbl band are replacements. “L.H” has been carved on the right side of the butt. The whole gun has been varnished. CONDITION: Rust/brown patina overall with some live rust on the lockplate. Chip missing at tail of trigger guard, otherwise good.
