*DELUXE ENGRAVED WINCHESTER MODEL 42 PUMP SHOTGUN. Cal. 410. SN 27223. Beautiful Model 42 with 28″ full choke bbl, factory ventilated rib with dbl ivory beads, rnd posts with donuts & a hand cut matting pattern on rib. Receiver is beautifully engraved in Winchester #5 style with full panel vignette of two gold bird dogs & two gold partridge on left side & a gold setter with two gold partridge on right side, all in typical Winchester field scenes with arabesque patterns at each end of the panels. Bottom of receiver, just in front of loading port, is engraved “L.C.” similar to another Model 42 being sold elsewhere in this auction. Engraving patterns extend about 1-1/2″ up the bbl. Mounted with very highly figured center crotch cut flame grain American walnut with triple diamond checkered rnd forearm & pistol grip stock, 14-3/4″ over a solid red Winchester pad. It has an after-market grip cap. CONDITION: Very fine plus. Retains virtually all of its fine finish to both metal & wood with only slight wear on slide bar & magazine tube. Wood is sound with a minor nick or two. Crisp mechanics, bright shiny bore. A small piece of gold is missing from one of bird dog’s tail.
