*FINE MERKEL OVER/UNDER COMBINATION GUN. Cal. 12 ga./8X57 JR. SN 15874. Fine pre-war combination gun with 26-1/2″ bbls choked FULL, solid, flat, matted rib with combination day/night caterpillar front sight, 2-position manually articulated rear sight with claw mounts (no scope) & dbl Greener cross bolt extensions, dbl lump with extractors. Left side of bbl is engraved “ROBERT HUBNER” & right side “DARMSTADT”. Receiver is case colored with light arabesque patterns & border engraving and a horn trigger guard with front set trigger & cocked indicators. Mounted with nicely figured walnut with 3-pc checkered splinter forearm & pistol grip stock with cheekpiece, 14-3/4″ over a serrated pressed horn buttplate. It has sling swivels. Weight: 7 lbs. 1.28 oz. CONDITION: Very fine. Bbls retain most of their strong orig finish & receiver traces of orig case colors in sheltered areas with balance turned silver.
