*SPECTACULAR WESTLEY RICHARDS DROP LOCK OVER/UNDER SHOTGUN/RIFLE 4-BBL SET. Cal. 20 ga & .318 Express. SN 17740. Spectacular Westley with three sets of 20 ga. bbls, (#1) 30″, (#2) 28″ & (#3) 25″ and set (#4) 26″ with 20 ga. over .318 express rifle bbl. 30″ bbls are choked IMP-CYL/CYL, 25″ & 28″ bbls are choked CYL/CYL. Combination bbl is choked FULL. #1, #2 & #4 bbls have 3″ chambers while #3 bbl has 2-3/4″ chamber. #1 bbls have SN 17740. #2 bbls have SN 17741. #3 bbls have SN 18106 and #4 bbls have SN 17742. It has Westley’s beautiful boxlock action with triple scalloped rear edge, ejectors & sgl selective trigger. Rear edge of bbls has raised reinforcing lumps with locking extensions & reinforcements along sides. Receiver has full coverage fine English foliate arabesque pattern engraving with maker’s name in a ribbon on each side. Detachable floorplate is engraved to match & trigger bow has a very nicely detailed setter. Bbl reinforcements & about 2-1/2″ of chamber end of bbl ribs are all engraved to match & have Olde English script initials “G.F.S.” Combination bbls have folding platinum line 2-leaf express sight marked “50” & “200” and have matching engraving patterns. All four ribs have maker’s name & address with advertisement “GUN MAKERS BY APPOINTMENT TO HIS MAJESTY GEORGE V REX ET IMP.” Right side reinforcing rib, under forearm on combination bbls, is marked “W.R. .318 ACCELERATED EXPRESS RIFLE .250 GRS BULLET”. Mounted with very highly figured streaky French walnut with horn tipped checkered rnd forearm & pistol grip stock, 14-1/2″ over a Decelerator pad. Grip has a smooth horn cap & there is a blank gold initial plate on bottom of stock. Accompanied by a cordovan leather, green felt-lined, trunk case compartmented for all pieces of this gun. Receiver retains virtually all of its strong bright restored case colors with some very slight edge wear. Trigger guard & floorplate retain most of a professionally restored blue, all probably by Westley Richards. Forend has two fine hairlines near rear edge, otherwise wood is sound with some slight oil staining around forend iron & retains most of an extremely fine professionally restored finish.
