*A.H. FOX SPECIAL GRADE DBL BBL SHOTGUN. Cal. 20 ga. SN 202285. Beautiful Philadelphia Fox with 32″ very heavy Chromox fluid compressed steel bbls choked FULL/IMP-MOD with tapered concave matted rib, sgl bead, crossbolt extension, ejectors & dbl triggers. Receiver is spectacularly engraved with full coverage foliate & floral engraving with game scene vignettes of two raised gold woodcock on left side, two raised gold quail on right side, a raised gold setter, two gold quail on bottom, a raised gold woodcock on trigger bow & raised gold 4-panel flower blossoms on each end of cylinder pin. Opening lever pivot has a raised gold flower blossom & “SPECIAL” is inlaid in gold on water table. Engraving patterns extend 2″ up bbls & on bbl extension with a narrow gold band. Water table also has light foliate arabesque patterns and “S” is in gold on top tang. Mounted with streaky burled French walnut with black insert semi-schnable tipped, ribbon checkered forearm & semi-pistol grip stock with raised checkered side panels, 14-3/4″ over leather covered pad. Drop at the heel: 2-3/8″, drop at the comb: 1-3/8″. Bore restrictions: left – .029, right – .025. Wall thickness: left – .042, right – .038. Bore diameter: left – .584, right – .596. Weight: 8 lbs. 0.32 oz. CONDITION: Extremely fine. As new, has been fired but very little, retains virtually all of its orig factory finish to both metal & wood with one or two very minor nicks in varnish.
