FIRST MODEL GERMAN REICH REVOLVER. Cal. 10.55 mm. SN 2312. Made by Sauer & Sohn, this revolver has 7-1/8″ oct to tapered rnd cannon muzzle bbl with integral pinched blade front sight & fixed rear sight. It has long sweeping grip with smooth walnut panels and a stud & ring in butt. Left side of frame has date “1881” & there is the unit marking “15A.T. / 2.70” on butt. CONDITION: Very fine, all matching. Overall retains 92-93% orig blue with some flaking to patina on bbl & has a heavy coating of old dried oil. Hammer & thumb safety retain most of their orig straw colors. Grips are sound with light handling marks & retain about 85% orig varnish. Mechanics are crisp, strong bright bore with a spot or two of rust. 4-57902 JR361 (700-1,000)
