RARE FACTORY ENGRAVED SMITH & WESSON 1ST MODEL 3RD ISSUE SPUR TRIGGER REVOLVER. Cal. 22 Short. SN 7624. Blue finish with 3-3/16″ keyhole bbl with brass front sight blade & 2-pc bird head rosewood grips. Frame & bbl have beautiful foliate arabesque pattern engraving with about 75% coverage on frame & with patterns on sides of bbl, muzzle & top of bbl lug. CONDITION: Very fine. All matching including grips. Bbl retains traces of orig finish in sheltered areas with balance a light patina. Frame retains 85-90% strong orig blue flaked thin on bottom with light edge wear & around trigger spur. Backstrap is a gray patina & front strap is thin blue/brown patina with bright strong blue in radius behind trigger spur. Cylinder has traces of blue in flutes with balance a medium patina. Cylinder stop screw is missing & one arm of stop is broken. therefore the cylinder stop is not functioning. Grips are sound with light nicks & scratches & retain most of their orig finish. As noted, mechanics are fine. Strong bright bore with scattered light pitting & a light ring about 1″ in front of cylinder. There are a couple of battered screws. 4-57530 JR288 (2,500-4,000)
